We’ve all been there: you’re plummeting down a 50-foot drop or blasting off into a galaxy far, far away, and the last thing on your mind is grabbing your camera. That’s the beauty of Disney PhotoPass. It captures those "core memory" moments so you can stay in the magic.
But with the recent shift to Lightning Lane Multi Pass and new technology at the parks, getting those photos is a little different than it used to be. Here is everything you need to know to ensure your vacation is a "Zero-Friction" photo success.
The "Automatic" Magic (No Tapping Required!)
Gone are the days of frantically searching for your photo on a wall of monitors after every ride. In 2026, most major attractions use "Long-Range" technology.
The Gear: If you are wearing a MagicBand+ or have your mobile device with Bluetooth enabled and the My Disney Experience app open, the system will automatically "find" you and link the photo to your account.
Pro Tip: Make sure your "Bluetooth" and "Location Services" are turned ON in the app settings before you enter the queue!

Which Rides Have Photos?
Disney has expanded its photo lineup to include almost every major thrill. Here is the current 2026 roster:
Magic Kingdom: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Pirates of the Caribbean, TRON Lightcycle / Run, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
EPCOT: Frozen Ever After, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Test Track.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Slinky Dog Dash, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Expedition Everest.

The Lightning Lane Multi Pass Perk
This is the biggest update! If you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass for your park day, your digital PhotoPass attraction photos and videos from that day are included in the price.
The Value: This is a huge win for families. You don't necessarily need to buy the full "Memory Maker" if you only care about your ride photos and you're already using the Multi Pass system to skip the lines.
When to Choose "Memory Maker"
While ride photos are included with Multi Pass, Memory Maker is still the king for total coverage. Memory Maker includes:
Every photo taken by a professional PhotoPass Photographer around the parks (in front of the Castle, at Character meets, etc.).
Magic Shots: Those fun photos where an animator "adds" a character like Tinker Bell or Stitch to your hand!
Super Zoom & Tiny World Magic Shots: Unique video and wide-angle shots found at specific park locations.
Expert Tip: Purchase Memory Maker at least 3 days before you arrive to save $40 off the "during-trip" price.

The Dreaded Watermark (And What to Do If Photos Go Missing)
When you log into the My Disney Experience app after a ride, don't panic if you see a large, digital Disney PhotoPass watermark splashed across your beautiful family photo!
Why is it there? The watermark simply means the system hasn’t unlocked your digital downloads yet. Once you purchase Memory Maker or if the photo was captured on a day you bought Lightning Lane Multi Pass, that watermark will instantly disappear, leaving you with a crystal-clear download.
What if the photo is missing entirely? If your MagicBand+ or phone Bluetooth wasn't linking properly during the drop, your photo might not show up at all.
The Fix: Disney actually tracks every single photo by the exact second it was taken. If a memory goes missing, go to the "Photos" section in your app, scroll to the bottom, and click "Find Missing Photos." You can type in the approximate time you rode the attraction, and Disney's photo team will manually hunt it down for you! Alternatively, you can pop into the PhotoPass center near the front of any park, and a Cast Member can find it on their monitors in minutes.

Don’t Forget the Disney PhotoPass takes Video!
Attractions like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Tower of Terror now provide slow-motion video captures along with the still photo. These are pure gold for social media and are included with both Memory Maker and Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
