When to Book a Sandals Resort

Updated: Mar 4

Why the "Right Time" Isn't Just a Season

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve walked through the open-air lobbies of Sandals, from the lush, jungle vibes of Ochi to the high-tech luxury of the new Royal Curaçao. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned from my own stays (and my many coffee-fueled planning sessions), it’s that "When to book" is about a lot more than just the weather.

In 2026, the game has changed slightly. Whether you’re a first-timer or a "Sandals Select" regular, here is how to time your booking for the best experience and the best price.

1. The "777" Magic (The Wednesday Routine)

If you take one thing from this post, let it be this: Check in with me on a Wednesday. Sandals runs a "777 Sale" every single week. They pick 7 specific room categories across 7 different resorts and take an additional 7% off the already discounted rate.

  • Expert Tip: I’ve seen this save my clients over $1,000 on rooms that were already "on sale." If you have your heart set on a specific resort like Sandals Dunn's River, we watch the 777 lists like a hawk.

2. The 2026 "Semi-Annual" Sweet Spot

For the first time ever, Sandals launched a Semi-Annual Caribbean Sale (running right now through March 16, 2026!). In the past, we had to wait for Black Friday or "Christmas in July" for the big ones.

  • The Deal: You’re looking at up to 65% off, plus resort credits ($175 is the 2026 standard) and even a free night on 7-night stays.

  • My Take: If you are planning for travel anytime through December 2027, now is the window. The inventory for those sought-after Rondoval suites or Skypool suites disappears fast during these big sales.

3. The Anniversary Loophole

Are you booking for an anniversary? Sandals has a legendary "Free Anniversary Night" promotion.

  • The Catch: You have to stay in a Club or Butler level room for at least 7 nights, and your travel must fall within 30 days of your wedding date.

  • Expert Tip: This isn't automatic! We have to submit your marriage certificate to validate it. But getting that 7th night for free on top of a 65% discount? That's how we get you that "I can't believe we're staying here" luxury for a fraction of the cost.

4. Booking On-Site: The "Loyalty" Secret

If you are currently at a Sandals resort reading this (lucky you!), go to the Loyalty & Travel desk before you check out.

  • Why? You can book your next trip right there for a 10–12% discount that stacks with other offers. You only need a $250 deposit to lock it in.

  • The Pro Move: You don't even have to pick your final dates or resort yet! You can "placeholder" the booking and move it later. It’s the single best way to ensure you never pay full price again.

5. Don't Wait for "Last Minute"

People always ask me if they should wait for a last-minute deal. My honest answer? No. Sandals resorts are smaller and more intimate than the giant "mega-resorts" in Cancun. The best rooms, the ones with the private plunge pools and the butler service, sell out 12 to 18 months in advance. Waiting for a last-minute deal usually means you're left with the "Great House" room overlooking the parking lot. In 2026, "Early Bird" wins every single time.
